My client, a global process solutions organisation, are looking for a Head of Bioprocessing to strengthen their bioprocessing leadership team and work with their Group CTO on developing and deploying their bioprocessing strategy and R&D activities at group level.
Tasks
Reporting to our CTO, you are part of the corporate technology leadership team and responsible for the development and deployment of the Bioprocessing strategy on group level.
You oversee novel technology R&D projects making sure that they are delivered within time, budget, and cash targets in the required quality to enable their commercial deployment in the Bioprocessing space (in house or with external partners).
You play a key role in guiding our existing businesses towards new commercial opportunities leveraging our existing portfolio in food and feed bioprocessing.
With your expert knowledge in bioprocess design, you also enable the group and its technology partners, joint ventures, and customers to successfully leverage their extended bioprocessing portfolio and maximise value creation e.g. in the wet processing space.
In doing so, you support the group in capturing related IP opportunities and promoting partner scouting, investment strategies and ecosystem engagement.
You lead the Bioprocessing team and develop it further by properly managing, appraising and developing the team members in line with their personal objectives and people processes.
You establish an aligned protection strategy across all businesses and partners for bioprocessing related applications to secure FTO and competitiveness across the organisation and extended partner solution spaces.
You develop and maintain corresponding relationships with customers and other external partners, including institutions, universities, and start-up companies.
Requirements
Master’s degree (or equivalent) in Biotechnology, Bioprocessing, Bioengineering or Chemical Engineering
Minimum 5 years of experience in the industry, incl. experience in Biotechnology, Bioprocessing, Chemical Engineering or Bioengineering
Excellent technical and specialist knowledge in Biotechnology and -processing for assessing development risks and investment cases
Insightful and able to collaborate with other functions and management team members in developing strategy and implementing business plans
Strong planning, organising and priority-setting skills, with a proven ability to manage projects in an international environment
Excellent leadership and team building skills with the ability to coach and mentor team members and develop a team further
Excellent written and oral communication skills, incl. the ability to interface effectively with people inside and outside of the company
Fluent in English and preferably additional languages
Extensive knowledge of equipment and processes involved in the bioprocessing space
Strong customer focus with the proven ability to build relationships with clients, suppliers, and contractors.
